FLORIDA MARRIAGE LAWS
To obtain a marriage license in the state of Florida, both individuals must apply in person together with a picture ID (driver’s license or state ID) and know their Social Security Number. If you do not have an SSN, you need to bring your passport. No blood tests are necessary. Legal age for marriage is 18. If you are under 18, you must bring a certified copy of your birth certificate and a parent or legal guardian with proof of identification.
For out-of state residents, such as those traveling to Tampa Bay for their wedding, there is no waiting period. For Florida residents, the couple must either observe a 3-day waiting period or attend a Florida state-certified marriage preparation courses. The course will also allow you a $32.50 discount on the marriage license cost.
In Florida, you can be married by a minister, notary, or boat captain, who is a Notary or a licensed Minister. Cost of the marriage license is $93.50. License is good for 60 days anywhere in the State of Florida.
