This is an Ambassador Community Project of the Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce. My Hope Chest's mission is to provide breast reconstruction surgery for "uninsured" breast cancer survivors and is the only charity in America currently addressing this need. It is our goal to raise at least $10,000 to provide one or more surgeries for local women. Breast reconstruction is truly the "final step in breast cancer treatment." There are two ways to get involved: *DONATE* No amount is too small to make a difference! The Sierra Club is proud to join Americans across the country volunteering on September 11 in honor and remembrance of those who bravely serve the country. The great outdoors are part of America’s heritage. Protecting our lands is a way to honor the National Day of Service.

Here in Tampa Bay we will help Ft. DeSoto Park create new dunes on the far end of North Beach by planting 10,000 new sea oats, and help clean up after Labor Day.

WHEN: Saturday, September 11, 2010
WHERE: Shelter #1, Ft. DeSoto County Park
NOTE: Shelter #1 is all the way up at the far end of North Beach
TIME: 9:00 am – 12:00 noon (Check-in 8:00-9:00 am)

After check-in, we’ll clean up one of America’s best beaches, Ft. DeSoto County Park’s North beach, and plant ten thousand sea oats to stabilize the North Beach to better serve as a nursery for birds and other Gulf wildlife.

The Tampa Bay Beaches are continually rated as some of the top beaches in the country, but due to the recent Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill our local tourism is down. Beach Day Tampa Bay is an event that wants us to get out to the beach, enjoy the beauty of our own backyard and rally around our local businesses.

DJ's from local radio stations will be broadcasting live at 6 beach destinations from Clearwater to St. Pete Beach. They will be promoting all beaches and local businesses. So, it doesn’t matter what stretch of beach you choose to enjoy or what business you choose to visit, just get there and show your support!

The newly created Not-For-Profit, Gulf Coast Iguana Sanctuary, co-sponsored with Clearwater Marine Aquarium’s Rescue, Rehab, and Release program, will come together for a Gala Fund Raising Event at Sirata Beach Resort & Conference Center on St. Pete Beach, Saturday, September 15, 2010.

The fundraiser, called, “Lizard Live II” will occur in the Majestic Ballroom of Sirata Beach Resort from 7 PM to ??? For a night of drinks, live appetizers, silent auction, live auction, music and dancing. This year’s MC continues to be Rhonda Shear accompanied by The Lizard Ladies. The music will be provided by Tom Gribbin and The Saltwater Band.

Tickets for this benefit are $50.00 in advance; $65.00 at the door; and, $1,500 for a 10 top sponsor table. This sponsor will also receive special recognition on the new Iguana Habitat to be built on the premises of Sirata Beach Resort. Tickets will include 2 drinks and light appetizers. Wear your best green outfits, as there will be prizes, a silent auction, a live auction and lots of FUN!
