Pinellas Park was established as a town back in June of 1914. Forty-five years later we established ourselves as a city on June 19, 1959. We are governed by a City Council and Manager. Our law making body is the City Council which consists of one (1) Mayor and four (4) Council Members elected at large and governed by the City Charter, and other State and County Codes. The City Manager oversees the day to day operations of the City and answers to the City Council. Pinellas Park hosts a series of community events annually behind City hall. The most popular of these events is "Country in the Park," a festival generally held on the 3rd Saturday of March. The festival's popularity stems from its wide array of events, such as arts and crafts shows, NASCAR displays, popular amusement park rides, and multi-artist day-long concert, and the fact that parking, entry to the festival, and attendance of the concert are all free of charge. Usually the night before Country In The Park, the Firefighters chili cookoff takes place at the bandshell behind City Hall.Pinellas Park is also home to a memorial to the Korean War, located in Freedom Lake Park.
