"I founded Mango Media in July of 2013. I serve as the owner and CEO of the company." - Wayne Hogan
Can you explain how and why you ended up owning this business?
"After spending 35 years as an administrator and public relations specialist in collegiate athletics, I had a desire to use my experience in strategic communications to assist businesses, non-profits and other worthwhile entities increase brand-awareness. We do this by improving their strategic communication internally and with community (public) and media (social and traditional) relations planning."
What was your passion or greatest motivator?
"I believe that effective communication is a dying art and one of the most important areas many organizations overlook. I am motivated by seeing so many otherwise business-savvy professionals miss the mark when it comes to a solid strategy to represent and promote their brand. Nothing that is written or verbally communicated within an organization should be left to chance. There is a critical strategy behind what to say, when to say it, who delivers the message and when it is delivered. When an organization has a sound communications plan, the value of the brand is greatly enhanced."
What would you say your business is most known for?
"Mango Media is most known for creating awareness through strategic planning. Mango Media is able to present an organization’s best attributes through the use of the written and spoken word and its interaction with internal constituents."
What has been your proudest moment within this business?
"In January, 2015, Mango Media was selected to manage the day-to-day operation of the Florida Sports Hall of Fame, a 56-year-old organization whose members are a “Who’s Who” of sports celebrities who are either from the state of Florida or came to the state to make their fame and fortune. "
