Weddings on Tampa Bay’s Beaches
A Florida Wedding
To obtain a marriage license in the state of Florida:
- Both individuals must apply in person with a picture ID
- Provide Social Security Number.
- If you do not have an SSN, you need to bring your passport.
- Legal age for marriage is 18.
For out-of state residents there is no waiting period.
For Florida residents: the couple must either observe a 3-day waiting period or attend a Florida state-certified marriage preparation course.
In Florida, you can be married by a minister, notary, or boat captain, who is a Notary
or a licensed Minister.
Cost of the marriage license is $86. License is good for 60 days.
